About me

Chrissie Monnelly
I am Chrissie, a Virtual Assistant based in Cardiff. I offer freelance support to vegan, ethical and environmental entrepreneurs and businesses, to help create a happier, healthier and more sustainable future.

“If you want something done, ask a busy person”
That person is me! I thrive off pace and deadlines and, weirdly, the more I do the more I can do!
Despite my youthful looks (ha!), I have more than 17 years’ experience working in various customer service and business support positions. I started from humble beginnings as a sales advisor on Champion Sport in Debenhams. If you can remember that department, fist bump from me.
Since that time, I’ve racked up a whole load of work experience and your standard GCSEs/A-levels/Degree, and a whole bunch of stuff in-between.*
I have a Batchelors of Law, which has held me in good stead for absorbing vast quantities of information and presenting them in a persuasive argument in a relatively short space of time. Nothing like an essay deadline to get the creative juices flowing!
I have my own experiences of being self-employed and so I completely understand the hard work and dedication it takes. I ran my own – pretty darn successful, even if I do say so myself – from home baking business whilst raising my pre-school aged son. Time management is not an issue for me!
I’m also a self-employed yoga teacher. I completed a Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training (200 hours) Course in the summer of 2018 and taught regular classes until recently. I didn’t hop aboard the online class Coronacoaster and left that to the full-time teachers.
Teaching yoga allowed me to share a practice I love, whilst building on my presentation and public speaking skills, with a captive audience that had no choice but to put up with my jokes.
I have worked with a variety of clients from solicitors, to creatives and, of course, a yoga studio or two. I have a diverse portfolio and a rather impressive skill set (she said, modestly).
I pride myself on being reliable, efficient and resourceful. I’ve spent my career building relationships up to and including Director level, so I am well-practiced in diplomatic, flexible and pragmatic assistance, with high levels of confidentiality.

My Mission
I am passionate about delivering a high quality, professional service. I also have a nifty ability to nurture people’s strengths, allowing you to blossom and your business to flourish.
I also see so many worthy causes in the world and want to help and support them all!
So I became The Plant-Powered PA, a woman on a mission to provide the highest level of personal assistant and business services, supporting eco, vegan and ethical sole traders, start-ups and small businesses.

Why "The Plant-Powered PA"?
I eat a whole food, plant-based diet and, whilst long, I enjoyed the alliteration of The Plant-Powered PA. I am also vegan in the way I live my life and conduct my business.
Veganism and plant-based diet is a journey and a continual process, with lots of learning and un-learning. I understand what is important to you and your business and the importance of choosing the right people to work with and the right words to make your point.
I am so excited to be able to offer my skills and services to people and companies that make a difference.
